Job Details
At least one full season of trail-guiding experience is required for this position. Wranglers must be outgoing, friendly, hardworking, and possess excellent, proven horse-handling skills. This role involves long hours, physical labor, and extensive interaction with guests, making a positive attitude and a team-oriented approach essential.
Wranglers should have experience riding in rough terrain, a good sense of direction, and a solid understanding of safety standards for horse care, handling, and equipment. Ensuring the safety of guests, staff, and horses is always the top priority.
We prioritize natural horsemanship in all aspects of handling and caring for our horses. Aggressive training methods or treatment of horses are not tolerated. Wranglers must have a calm and understanding demeanor with the horses, ensuring they are treated with respect and care at all times.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work under the supervision of the Head Wrangler to care for approximately 70 horses, including feeding, grooming, and administering basic veterinary care.
Saddle and unsaddle horses and lead trail rides for guests and staff.
Supervise arena activities, including team penning and children’s rodeos, and provide riding lessons for both children and adults.
Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of the barn, tack room, loading area, and pastures.
Learn to identify all ranch horses by sight, name, and personality.
Assist in maintaining trails, fences, corrals, and other ranch facilities.
Participate in weekly guest activities, including dining with guests and attending the farewell Awards Night.
Wranglers may also be asked to ride and assess young or problem horses in the arena or on trails. While experience training horses is beneficial, the Head Wrangler will evaluate your skills upon arrival and will not assign tasks beyond your comfort or ability.
